About EECMD

Democracy needs democrats. This is why we work to enhance democratic traditions, strengthen political parties, and create strong grassroots capacities for democracy in Eastern European Neighborhood.

The five principles of EECMD:

Democratic countries need democratic political parties - without political parties, which are inclusive and transparent, there can be no real democracy. We assist political parties to deepen and extend the participation and representation of different groups in political life. We pay special attention to gender equality and to empowering members of marginalized groups.

Democracy relies on democrats - we work to strengthen their individual and collective capacities by providing political education in different cities focusing on democratic values and the knowledge and skills for non-violent, democratic political action.

Democracy needs free and fair political competition - this is why we work to improve legislation and political party regulations so that everyone has a voice and space to express their political aspirations.

Democracy benefits from dialogue - we believe in the power of consensus and facilitate multiparty dialogue to address different political transformation challenges.

Democracy is never a finished job - we share our knowledge of innovative thinking and solutions to enhance political participation.
