Kakha Kaladze graduated from the Faculty of History at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.


Work Experience

Kakha Kaladze was the mayor of Tbilisi from 2017-2021. From 2012 to 2017, he was the deputy prime minister and energy minister of Georgia. He has been the party secretary of Georgian Dream -Democratic Georgia since 2013. In the 2012 parliamentary elections, he won in the Samtredia constituency, where he was a majoritarian candidate. Mr. Kaladze has been a member of the political council of the Georgian Dream - Democratic Georgia party since 2011. In 2008, he was a member of the Progress Bank supervisory board. That same year, Mr. Kaladze founded the Kala Foundation charity. In 2007, he founded the Kala Capital international investment group. Throughout this time, he continued to develop his own football career.

 

Mr. Kaladze started on the Samtredia Locomotive youth team in 1989 and continued his career at Tbilisi Dinamo in 1993 and Dinamo Kyiv from 1998-2001. From 2001 to 2010, he pursued his football career in Italy at the Milan football club. He later moved to the Genoa club, where he played from 2010-2012. He was a member of the Georgian national football team from 1996-2012. Kakha Kaladze is a UEFA Champions League winner and has been awarded several titles, including the Italy Cup, the Italian Super Cup, and Serie A. He finished his football career in 2012 before entering politics.
